Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tweed Shire mayor Chris Cherry said the night had a fantastic family atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Business Murwillumbah can be incredibly proud of bringing this event, made by the community, for the community &#8211; it was incredible to see how people came out to enjoy the street party,&#8221; Cr Cherry said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/05\/party5_49700.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"370\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Colour and life were on show throughout the laneway. Amazing work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The street party was supported by Tweed Shire Council and the NSW Government as part of a Community Improvement District (CID) pilot project led by Business Murwillumbah.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/05\/party3_49797.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"368\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Doing the dinosaur, part of Tweed Regional Museum&#8217;s involvemnet.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>NSW Minister for Small Business Janelle Saffin said the Connect Murwillumbah project had delivered strong results.&#8221;This collaboration between local businesses, creatives, community groups and government has seen a boost to the local economy with increased daily spending in the town centre of $529,000 in the 12 months to February 2025,&#8221; Saffin said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/05\/party2_49705.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"347\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">As night descends the light and movement begin.
