{"id":107338,"date":"2025-05-30T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/?p=107338"},"modified":"2025-05-28T19:20:31","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T09:20:31","slug":"enrolments-open-for-northern-rivers-youth-orchestra-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/living\/enrolments-open-for-northern-rivers-youth-orchestra-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Enrolments open for Northern Rivers Youth Orchestra 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>YOUNG musicians across the region are being encouraged to join the Northern Rivers Youth Orchestra, which returns to Lismore in July for three days of music-making, learning and collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by the Northern Rivers Conservatorium, the annual event brings together school-aged musicians for workshops, rehearsals and performances led by experienced conductors and music educators.<\/p>\n<p>The program also includes mentorship from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music through its Buddy program, offering students a rare chance to learn from some of the best in the field.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s orchestra will include full orchestras, concert bands and string ensembles, with repertoire ranging from classical masterpieces to iconic film scores and contemporary works. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Local composer and Northern Rivers Conservatorium librarian Tilly Jones, who has taken part in the program every year since 2012, said it was a transformative experience for students.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is such an incredibly fun, rewarding and motivating experience,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Alumni from NRYO have gone on to be world-class soloists and ensemble performers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 Northern Rivers Youth Orchestra will take place from July 8 to 10.
