LOCAL community groups and not-for-profit organisations are being invited to apply for up to $5,000 in funding through Tweed Shire Council’s 2025 Community Grants Program.<\/p>\n

The program supports grassroots projects that enhance wellbeing, increase social connection,promote inclusion, and reduce homelessness.<\/p>\n

Projects that make use of local recreation spaces and bring people together are also encouraged.<\/p>\n

To help applicants strengthen their submissions, Council will host free workshops and drop-in support sessions at Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads Civic Centres on June 10 and 11, and at Murwillumbah Library on June 17.<\/p>\n

Tweed Shire mayor, Chris Cherry, said the grants had supported a wide range of local initiatives.<\/p>\n

“These grants are about supporting the people and ideas that help the Tweed thrive,” Cr Cherry said.<\/p>\n

“We’re encouraging all eligible groups with a project that creates real impact in our community to apply and make the most of this funding opportunity.”<\/p>\n

Successful grants in 2024 included Mongrels Health and Wellbeing, a grassroots community-focused initiative that uses inclusive, no-nonsense language and creative approaches to support men’s mental health, resilience, and social connection.<\/p>\n

The Brain Injury Community \u2013 a peer-led initiative that fosters connection, understanding, and resilience among people living with brain injury \u2013 was also successfully funded.<\/p>\n

Applications close on Sunday, June 29.<\/p>\n
