Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The improvements we&#8217;ve made to this road mean that it&#8217;s more likely to withstand the weather events of the future and stay open, so residents don&#8217;t get stuck,&#8221; Saffin said.<\/p>\n<p>Tweed Shire mayor Chris Cherry said that Tyalgum Road had been one of the council&#8217;s major road works.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thanks to all the staff at Tweed Shire Council and SEE Civil who worked on this complicated project,&#8221; Cr Cherry said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_113632\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-113632\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-113632\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/07\/crack3_66861.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-113632\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Installation of soil anchors during repair work. Real outcomes that make a real difference in people&#8217;s lives, especially in regional communities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Australian and NSW Governments funded the $24 million project through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
