He said the name &#8216;dayo&#8217;, which means &#8216;visitor&#8217; in Filipino, reflects the welcoming atmosphere the team wants to create.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dayo is really close to our hearts,&#8221; Ang said. &#8220;It means traveller or visitor, and that&#8217;s how we want everyone to feel when they walk in \u2013 like they&#8217;ve just arrived somewhere welcoming, where they belong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ang is joined by chefs Kristyn Ang and Jerrika Guiang, who share a grounding in Filipino culture and years of experience in Asian and Mediterranean kitchens.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We didn&#8217;t want to create just another caf\u00e9,&#8221; Ang said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_114278\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-114278\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-114278\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/07\/picture_20250717_171_63527_tn.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"368\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-114278\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Good vibes and good food are on offer at the new Tweed riverside eatery, Dayo Cafe.
