{"id":108912,"date":"2025-08-01T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-07-31T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/?p=108912"},"modified":"2025-07-31T12:36:42","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T02:36:42","slug":"new-documentary-film-course-in-condong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/news\/new-documentary-film-course-in-condong\/","title":{"rendered":"New documentary film course in Condong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LOCAL documentary maker Jordan Edmeades is launching the Documentary Film Academy at the Mill Creative Precinct in Condong this month.<\/p>\n<p>The new weekly classes will cover topics including documentary producing, writing for documentary, camera and lens fundamentals, audio recording and sound design, lighting and grip techniques, and editing and post production.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to shooting and editing stories for the Red Cross, Edmeades also runs the Ballina Film Academy and the Kyogle Film Academy, as well as a Homeschool Film Academy that provides home-based tuition for homeschooled students.<\/p>\n<p>The filmmaker recently relocated to the Northern Rivers and the Condong documentary course is his latest foray into the region, which he said has a definite appetite for filmmaking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would also love to use the cafe space at the mill to start a weekly film studies gathering,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA place where we could gather as a community, have a tasty supper and watch a beautiful film, then talk about what it brought up for us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to making this happen over the coming weeks and months as we settle into the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Kyogle-based director and producer recently worked on the Miriam Margolyes series <em>Impossibly Australian.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Edmeades has also worked on <em>Inside the Sydney Opera House<\/em> (ABC), <em>Hunted<\/em> (Network Ten), <em>Stargazing Live: Back to Earth with Brian Cox<\/em> (BBC), <em>Behind the Blue Line <\/em>(SBS) and <em>A Stargazer&#8217;s Guide to the Cosmos<\/em> (ABC), which won the ATOM Award for Best Factual Television Series.<\/p>\n<p>The 18-week documentary course starts on August 4 in Condong on Monday nights from 6 pm to 9 pm.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, email <a href=\"mailto:jedmeades@gmail.com\"><strong>jedmeades@gmail.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOCAL documentary maker Jordan Edmeades is launching the Documentary Film Academy at the Mill Creative Precinct in Condong this month.
