{"id":109518,"date":"2025-08-28T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T03:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/?p=109518"},"modified":"2025-08-27T16:25:44","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T06:25:44","slug":"fashion-forward-at-twin-towns-day-view-club-fundraiser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/news\/fashion-forward-at-twin-towns-day-view-club-fundraiser\/","title":{"rendered":"Fashion forward at Twin Towns Day View Club fundraiser"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Twin Towns Day View Club is hosting its annual fundraising fashion parade at the South Tweed Sports Club on Thursday, October 2.<\/p>\n<p>Showcasing the latest Spring and Summer trends by U and I Designs, club members will model a selection of fashions for the warmer weather, suitable for a variety of tastes and lifestyles.<\/p>\n<p>Twin Towns View Club president Lorraine Gilkison said it was a popular and well-attended event with the fashion on parade featuring affordable, easy-to-wear, stylish clothes for women.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They&#8217;re not limited to age brackets or size,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve had some of the younger ladies modelling, and they look fantastic, and equally, some of the more mature ladies modelling look great.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People are conscious of money these days, so they&#8217;re good quality and very well priced &#8211; I bought three garments last year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Funds raised at the event go towards The Smith Family and the club&#8217;s ongoing sponsorship of seven children in the charity&#8217;s Learning for Life program.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_115631\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-115631\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-115631\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/08\/IMG_0498_86077.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-115631\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Assistant secretary Patricia Rogers and treasurer Sharon Yarnton at the last fashion parade event. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know that Aussie kids are doing it tough and we put the money we raise towards them,&#8221; Gilkison said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We communicate with birthday cards and gift vouchers via the Smith family.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All the other View clubs around Australia also sponsor children through the program.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The club&#8217;s regular luncheon on September 4 will feature guest speaker Rod Preston.
