INCLEMENT weather at the end of last month caused a smaller contingent of women taking on the August Monthly Medal sponsored by Bev Pascoe coinciding with the third round of the Scotty Loaders Services Mt Gambier sponsored President\u2019s Trophy at the Blue Lake Golf Club.<\/p>\n
Still in a purple patch of her last few outings Annette Ford was the recipient of the August Monthly Medal as well as topping Division One.<\/p>\n
Ford played to her handicap of 26 signing for nett 71 with pars on the two dog-leg holes on the course, the 9th and 15th, in her splits of 49\/48, both nines all square.<\/p>\n
Runner up Sue Agars also had 97 off the stick playing off a 22 handicap finishing with nett 75 her scorecard included a birdie on the par three 14th hole in her 51\/46 splits.<\/p>\n
Third placegetter was women\u2019s captain Ronda Edwards playing off a 18 handicap registering 96\/78 her splits of 50\/46 included pars on the 5th and 10th holes.<\/p>\n
Once again Division Two players found the going a little challenging all recording a bit too much red ink on their scorecards.<\/p>\n
Bev Pascoe was the best taking the top voucher nett 81, runner-up was Lesley McPherson nett 83 and third on the podium was Johanna Gogan nett 86.<\/p>\n
NTP winner 2nd shot on the 16th was Karen Panagopoulos (in the hole) and the pro-shot winner on the 5th was Sue Agars (5mtrs). Birdies were scored by Rosemary Martland 5th, Agars 14th, Panagopoulos 16th with chip-in ferret prizes awarded to Agars 12th\/14th, Panagopoulos 16th. Martland won the putting prize (29).<\/p>\n
AUGUST 23 RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n The stableford competition was combined with the annual Wally Hudson Shield that included mens, women\u2019s and mixed pairs aggregate stableford points.<\/p>\n It was also a chance to wear favourite footy colours with a notable lot of Collingwood and Adelaide Crows supporters on show giving a lot of good natured sparring over the fairways.<\/p>\n The spring-like conditions were enjoyed by 26 women especially by the overall winner Annette Ford who stated she couldn\u2019t do anything wrong after signing for a impressive 43 points and as golfers know, these days are few and far between.<\/p>\n Ford played off a 27 handicap and in her outward 20 points scored three three-pointers including a par on the 5th follwed by four three-pointers, two were pars on the 12th and 15th along with a four-point birdie on the 14th.<\/p>\n Second was Wendy Burley back in the winner\u2019s circle after her win the previous week posting 37 points off her 40 handicap. Included in her 17\/20 splits there were six three-pointers and a fine four-pointer on the dog-leg par four 15th.<\/p>\n Third was Helen Stratford with 36 points off her 23 handicap and in her 17\/19 splits there were three three-point pars along with a four-point birdie on the par three 14th.<\/p>\n The ball rundown included Karyn Coon 35 points, Karen Panagopoulos 34 c\/b Vivienne Wilson 34, Rosemary Martland 32 c\/b Jayne Galpin c\/b Geraldine Scott.<\/p>\n NTP and pro- shot winner on the 5th was Martland (3.48).
