THE community has raised more than $7,000 to support the family of 23-year-old Mullumbimby woman Ashleigh Grice, who was allegedly murdered in a domestic violence incident last week.<\/p>\n

Ms Grice’s boyfriend, 29-year-old Jai Oden-Jenkins, will face Lismore Local Court in November after being charged with murder following the incident on Poinciana Street.<\/p>\n

A friend of her mother’s, Parsa Ide, set up a GoFundMe page, describing Ashleigh as “a beautiful soul, a loving daughter and a cherished sister.”<\/p>\n

“Ashleigh lit up every room she entered with her warmth, kindness and radiant spirit,” she said. “Her absence has left a silence that echoes through the hearts of all who knew her.<\/p>\n

“Please join us in supporting Ashleigh’s family during this unimaginable time. Let us come together not only in grief but in remembrance \u2014 to honour her life, her love, and her light.<\/p>\n

Hundreds gathered at Heritage Park in Mullumbimby on Friday night for a candlelight vigil, titled We Stand with Ashleigh.<\/p>\n

Byron Shire mayor Sarah Ndiaye thanked those who attended, emphasising that the gathering was not a protest but a space to honour Ashleigh’s life with gentleness and care.<\/p>\n

Supporters are also being urged to donate to the Mullumbimby and District Neighbourhood Centre, which provides specialist domestic violence services.<\/p>\n
