INTERNATIONAL Wrestling Australia is set to return to Ballina for an afternoon of body slams, broken tables and competitors flying off the top rope at the Ballina RSL Club.<\/p>\n

IWA will stage the Northern Rivers show as part of its summer tour on Sunday, January 11.<\/p>\n

The promotion attracted a capacity crowd at Evans Head last year and is again set to bring professional wrestlers from around the country to the region.<\/p>\n

Rita Stone has been a standout in the women’s division, with a number of new champions emerging since the promotion’s 2025 show.<\/p>\n

Masked high-flying competitors are always popular with crowds, along with stunts that include wrestlers being thrown through tables.<\/p>\n

“Ballina has been popular in the past and we’ve been running shows for more than 25 years as the longest-running professional wrestling company in Australia,” IWA director Rob Oxley said.<\/p>\n

“Wrestlers bring their own personalities to the event, and they have an ability to engage a crowd on any given night.<\/p>\n

“They all bring something different but share a passion for what they do.”<\/p>\n

International Wrestling Australia has long been a breeding ground for Australian wrestling talent.<\/p>\n

The promotion provides an opportunity for emerging wrestlers to gain experience while performing in front of hundreds of people at its larger shows.<\/p>\n

It blends sport and performance, with many competitors coming from strong athletic backgrounds.<\/p>\n

Grayson Waller and Bronson Reed both spent time with IWA before going on to represent World Wrestling Entertainment in the United States.<\/p>\n

Waller returned to the IWA scene last year, taking on Jimmy Townsend, who was the heavyweight champion at the time.<\/p>\n

The Ballina event will feature title matches, tag team wrestling and other bouts with special stipulations.<\/p>\n

It is a family-friendly event, with VIP and family tickets available, and the show starting at 4pm.<\/p>\n
