BRUNSWICK Surf Life Saving Club will fly the Progress Flag during its patrol on Sunday as part of the national Rainbow Beaches initiative.<\/p>\n
The patrol will take place from 9am on February 8 at Brunswick Heads Beach, marking the club\u2019s participation in Rainbow Beaches, a campaign promoting inclusion and visibility across surf lifesaving.<\/p>\n
The Progress Flag will be flown throughout the patrol to signal that the beach is a welcoming and inclusive space for all members of the community.<\/p>\n
Brunswick SLSC patrol captain Simon Ceglinski said the patrol was about making inclusion visible at the beach.<\/p>\n
\u201cSurf lifesaving is about looking after everyone who comes to the beach,\u201d Ceglinski said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy raising the Progress colours, we\u2019re making it clear that everyone is welcome between the red and yellow flags \u2014 no matter who they are.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brunswick SLSC nippers will also take part on the morning, dressing in bright colours and face paint during activities at the beach.<\/p>\n
Rainbow Beaches is run by Lifesavers With Pride and is supported by surf life saving clubs across the country.<\/p>\n
More than 130 clubs nationally took part in the initiative last year.<\/p>\n
