A MAN has died after being pulled from the water at Kingscliff on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to Kingscliff Beach about 4pm after reports a man had gone missing in the water.<\/p>\n
Officers attached to Tweed Heads Marine Area Command began searching the area with assistance from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.<\/p>\n
\u201cA short time later, police retrieved the man, commenced first aid, and transported him to the Water Police Station,\u201d NSW Police said in a statement.<\/p>\n
NSW Ambulance paramedics assessed the man at the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, he died at the scene,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n
The man has not yet been formally identified but is believed to be in his 50s.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident and will prepare a report for the Coroner,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
