CLUB Tweed is set to host a barefoot bowls fundraiser to help raise funds for sick children and paediatric support services in the region.<\/p>\n

It will be community focused event run by Tweed Community Clubs on Thursday, 23 April.<\/p>\n

The Our Kids charity group will be the beneficiary group in support of its ongoing efforts across the Northern Rivers.<\/p>\n

There will be teams of four competing with the aim is to attract businesses and social groups.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2001 by Dr Chris Ingall in Lismore, Our Kids has helped hundreds of children across the region and purchased more than $2.8 million worth of paediatric equipment for local hospitals.<\/p>\n

Our Kids fundraising coordinator Rebekka Battista said the event was an opportunity for the community to come together while making a tangible difference.<\/p>\n

“This is a wonderful opportunity to gather, have some fun and raise funds to help keep our kids local when needing medical care,” she said.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Tweed Valley Hospital.<\/p>\n

It will help purchase essential equipment across key areas including the emergency department, women’s care, special care nursery and children’s ward.<\/p>\n

Teams of four can enter the event for $100 with live music from Angus Holmes and Curt Luxton, as well as family-friendly entertainment including face painting from 12.30pm.<\/p>\n

Club Tweed is one of the premier bowling greens in the region and host several community focused events throughout the year.<\/p>\n

It is currently building towards its annual Golden Nugget competition which attracts some of the best bowlers from around the country.<\/p>\n
