Events return to light up the Murray
Bright lights and cool sounds in store for May
WHILE the events industry has been in the dark over the past twelve months, Echuca Moama, the events capital of the Murray, is about to shine once more thanks to two exciting events that will be the largest held in the region since the beginning of the pandemic.
Free ticketed event
For the first time in Australia, our iconic red gum bushland and most legendary river will be illuminated using never seen before sound and lighting treatments for an original and immersive experience like no other.
Moama Lights takes place in the culturally-significant Horseshoe Lagoon, where a 600-meter trail will guide visitors through three defining chapters of Echuca Moama’s story – it’s Indigenous heritage, European settlement, and modern day.
Follow the path of up-lit river red gums and boardwalks as you are mesmerised by the lightshow of gum leaves slowly drifting across the lagoon, walk through a field of hundreds of illuminated flowers, and wander under a night sky of flickering star lights, culminating in a triumphant finale of the Murray River ablaze with colour.
Moama Lights is brought to you by Murray River Council and is proudly funded by the NSW Government Streets as Shared Spaces program.
Tickets are free but bookings are essential. Nightly number caps apply. Visit echucamoama.com to book.
ECHUCA MOAMA WINTER BLUES FESTIVAL
Do you suffer from the winter blues? Echuca Moama has the perfect antidote – the return of its Winter Blues Festival!
Taking place from 22 to 25 July from the comfort of the region’s historic pubs, contemporary bars, cosy cafes, riverside wineries and fusions restaurants, this iconic festival brings some of Australia’s best blues and roots artists to the events capital of the Murray.
The festival will look a little different this year, and for the first time (and hopefully last time) tickets will be sold for the Festival to ensure crowd control so the festival can go ahead.
Tickets are essential and will be on sale from 1 May so keep your eye on the event website for all updates and announcements at winterblues.com.au.
