Fresh look for association board
THE Ballarat Basketball Association has welcomed six new members to its board of management.
Nicole Roberts, Ben Halsall, Kyle Slack, Craig Ness, Josh Morris and Sean Duffy are the new appointees to the nine-member board, bringing together a wealth of experience and expertise to help shape the future of basketball across the region.
They will join unanimously re-elected chair of the board Fiona Cummins and fellow continuing board members Matthew Richardson and Matthew Reynolds.
Richardson will again serve as treasurer, while Reynolds remains as junior representative director.
Among the newcomers, Roberts has been elected as vice-chair and people and culture director.
Halsall will serve as director of community programs and competitions, Slack as director of senior elite teams, and Ness as director of strategic planning, while Morris and Duffy will focus on commercial opportunities and Minerdome operations.
Cummins said she was excited by the calibre of experience and enthusiasm the new directors would bring to the association.
“These new board directors bring significant governance expertise and institutional knowledge, which will help support Ballarat Basketball to reach new heights,” she said
“As a new board, we are currently developing an updated three-year strategic plan that will guide the organisation’s future direction.
“We want to provide an even better service to our members and athletes, create clear pathways for player development, strengthen our elite programs and further enhance our inclusion initiatives.
“At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to providing opportunities for all players and pursuing excellence across every program.
“The newly appointed board is committed to ensuring Ballarat Basketball continues to grow as a leading sporting organisation, delivering strong community outcomes while fostering participation and excellence at all levels of the game.”
