Fresh new flavours at DTC

December 3, 2020 BY

Every day of the year, Amalfi is always more than great pizza, pasta and parmas!

A NEW taste of Italy is coming to Delacombe Town Centre this December.

Offering a full and varied menu, convenient opening hours and easy ordering, Victorian family owned and operated Amalfi Pizza and Pasta is all about good food when you need it.

“Amalfi Pizza and Pasta is based on Italian cuisine and Italian meals with a little twist for local tastes,” said general manager Alessandro Capponi.

“We’ve noticed that people can come to Amalfi more than once a week and enjoy something different each time.”

To get your mouth watering, Amalfi not only offers a full range of traditional, deluxe and gourmet pizzas and fresh made pasta, there’s also calzones, five different types of parmas, as well as regular and healthy side options and delicious desserts.

“We make what we call a traditional, Aussie style pizza, and that’s what people are used to and enjoy right across Victoria,” Mr Capponi said.

“What we’re really famous for is our scalloped potatoes. We offer normal chips, but with a parma, for example, you get a salad and a serve of scalloped potatoes, and we make the scalloped potatoes on site.”

With a focus on supporting local, Amalfi’s tasty offerings are made with ingredients from some of the best Victorian producers.

“We use all local products, and we’re really proud of that,” Mr Capponi said.

The fresh egg pasta is made in Melbourne, while the sauce you choose is cooked in the store when you order it.

Amalfi’s schnitzels for their five different chicken parmigiana options are cooked fresh for perfect quality and flavour.

“We have a really strong kitchen,” Mr Capponi said. “We’re not just a pizza shop that does a couple of things, we have a commercial kitchen in each store.

“We cook all our sauces and all our pastas on order, we don’t pre-cook, throw it in the fridge and then heat it up. We cook it from scratch.

“It’s the same with our parmas. We get our own schnitzels, we fry them on order, put on the toppings, and you’re ready to go.”

It doesn’t stop at your main meal however, with Amalfi’s selection of sweet treats a great compliment to any dinner.

“Our gelato is made by a local manufacturer in Melbourne and there’s eight flavours,” Mr Capponi said. “They make Italian artisan gelato.

“We also have doughnuts, chocolate mousse, a whole range of cakes and some ice cream favourite options, like Connoisseur and Peters – the classics.

“Really, we make everyone happy with just one order!”

Open from 5pm to 3am – 365 days a year, Amalfi Pizza and Pasta is all about great quality, satisfying Italian food when you want it.

Whether it’s a sit-down dinner with the family, feeding many hungry mouths for the big game, or a late-night feast, Mr Capponi said at the heart of Amalfi is the Italian tradition of good food when you need it.

“We want to make sure we’re there for everyone,” he said. “Say you’re working late in a factory, or you’re a nurse who’s come off night shift, you can still have a great meal, a proper meal.

“We know that we can feed the whole family from one menu. Dad might feel like a parma. Mum? Maybe she just wants a salad. The kids, they’re good to go with a pineapple pizza.”

Created in Melbourne in 2014, Amalfi Pizza and Pasta has grown to 12 stores in the major metro region and is now expanding into regional Victoria.

A family owned and run business, the new shop at Delacombe Town Centre is being established by a franchisee who started with the company as a delivery driver.

Initially Amalfi will add six to eight new jobs in Ballarat, but as the business grows Mr Capponi said employment opportunities should increase.

“The idea of our family extends to our staff, we look after our people,” he said.

“This is actually the franchisee’s second store. He owns the Doncaster site but is moving to Ballarat to open the new Delacombe Town Centre shop.”

With a range of ordering and pickup or delivery options, getting Amalfi to your table is quick and easy.

While the DTC store has its own group of delivery drivers, they’ve also teamed up with Ballarat-based Delivr.

Amalfi Pizza and Pasta is set to open by mid-December at shop T13, Delacombe Town Centre. Call 4303 2222 or order online at amalfipizza.com.au.

“Also, if you search Amalfi Pizza Ballarat on Google, you can order and pay straight from Google!” Mr Capponi said.
