SPRING’S sunny days call for a family outing… and an ice-cream.

The next Lucas Display Village Great Big Challenge afternoon is coming up this weekend on Sunday, 16 October.

The Great Big Hippie Whippy Challenge will be a drawcard, running from 12.30pm to 1.30pm, with Jodi and her team serving up as many soft serve ice-cream cones as they can within the hour, for free.

Sales agent Chris Gladman said this weekend’s event will be the last in a series of three Sunday afternoons, which have seen a visit from celebrity gardener Jamie Durie, and Tim Bone and Boost Juice staff serve as many toasties and juices as possible.

“We’ve really enjoyed seeing so many people out and about. When the streets are full of people, our Lucas Display Village has a really good vibe, so we encourage everyone to come up and visit us,” he said.

The Hippie Whippy team will be tasked with serving as many ice creams as they can within a 60-minute period.

“The events, activities and entertainment planned are so much fun, so all we can hope for now is some beautiful weather to go with them.”

Families can explore more than 30 display homes between 12pm and 5pm and enjoy the roving talents of stilt walkers dressed as gnomes, the band Ballahornication, Mr Hubble’s Bubble show, and circus performer Sam Starr.

Kids can get their faces painted, families can grab a feed at a food truck, play an outdoor game, or pick up some giveaways.

Dennis Family Homes, McMaster Homes, Hudson Ridge Builders, Simonds Homes, Hearty Homes, Highmark Homes, 5AB Homes, Burbank Homes, Langdon Building, Metricon Homes, Twomey Homes, JG King Homes, GJ Gardiner Homes, Hotondo Homes, and Chatham Homes are also part of the village.

“A lot of the builders have some great deals on at the moment for people with land already, or land settling, who want to build in the near future,” Mr Gladman said.

“The builders have got availability to get building soon, so they will be really happy to see everyone come up and visit.”

Come along, roam around Lucas, and discover village life!
