Lucas Lifestyle hosts third art show

RESIDENTS of the Lucas Lifestyle Estate will conduct their third annual Lucas Art Show over the weekend of 15 and 16 November.

The exhibition provides a creative ambience for artists and photographers to show and potentially sell their work.

Growing from just over 100 exhibits in 2023 to about 275 artworks and photographs this year, the Lucas Art Show attracts artists from Ballarat and surrounding areas.

Organising committee member Graham May said the committee is hoping for good attendance at the event.

“This is the third year this event has been organised by our residents and each year it has grown to be one of the premier art events in Ballarat,” he said.

“This year we are showcasing over 270 exhibits by both artists and photographers.

“We hope many people are able to attend the event over the weekend and admire the talent of these amazing artists and photographers, and in particular, the creativity of some of our emerging artists.”

The prize money has been increased this year and features a new category for emerging artists aged 18 and under.

The first prize for the winning artwork will be $750, and the winning photographer will receive $400.

A prize of $100 will be presented to the artist or photographer with the most creative frame on their artwork.

The event will be held in the Lucas Lifestyle Estate Clubhouse at 21 Harris Drive, Lucas and will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm on both days.

Admission is free.
