More than just badminton

Ballarat Badminton Association has Introduced two new activities to the Ken Kay Badminton Stadium in Wendouree.  With the aim of connecting all members of the community through fun and activities, with free come and try days.  All equipment and basic instruction is supplied.

PICKLEBALL

Thursdays 10.45am

Pickleball is a game played either indoors or out, as singles or doubles, on a court the size of a badminton court over a low tennis-style net. It is played with a paddle and a light, plastic whiffle ball a bit larger than a tennis ball but with holes in.

Pickleball is currently the fastest growing sport in USA. The game is a mixture of tennis, badminton and table tennis.

FLOOR CURLING

Wednesday 2pm

Floor curling is a modified version of the Olympic sport of curling with one major difference – no Ice and no sweeping involved. Suitable for all ages and abilities, with the use of pusher sticks encouraged. The aim is to get as many of your colour stones as close to the target as possible.
