DID you love the musical performances of television variety shows in the 1960s?

Known as Australia’s modern kings of variety television, The Robertson Brothers are bringing their new 2024 1960s Variety TV Show tribute concert to the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts on Sunday 19 May.

As hosts and musicians, Geoff and Ben Robertson will highlight the music of The Beach Boys, The Monkees, John Farnham, Peter, Paul and Mary, The Hollies, the Bee Gees, Frankie Valli, The Seekers, The Everly Brothers, and Neil Sedaka.

The duo said their aim to deliver an interactive, theatrical, nostalgic and emotional afternoon of entertainment.

“Variety TV Show fans will be excited to know the multi-talented Simon Brook McLachlan from the original Australian cast of Jersey Boys will return in 2024,” the pair said.

“He will thrill us with his very special tributes to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons as well as Neil Sedaka, together with a brand-new variety show tribute to the much loved 1960s Australian superstar, Johnny Farnham.”

The Robertson Brothers are touring the 150-minute show in 2024, after a sell-out run in 2023.

The performance has been described by radio personality Ray Hadley as “the best show [he’s] seen in years.”

The Robertson Brothers have been performing as a band for decades, including at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.

They have sung the Home and Away TV theme song and were backing artists on Australian Idol.

Their 1960s Variety TV Show matinee will begin at 2pm. Visit robertsonbrothers.com.au for tickets.
