$80k for vet science centre

November 21, 2018 BY

LOCALLY owned pet store chain, Pet Stock, could team up with the Ballarat Agricultural Society, Federation University, the City of Ballarat and the State Government on a new veterinary science centre if the Coalition win the election.

The Liberal and National parties have pledged $80,000 for a scoping study looking at the creation of the centre at a site in Mt Rowan.

The centre would train students in things like animal grooming and pet care and would include activities related to Fed Uni’s Batchelor of Veterinary and Wildlife Science degree.

“We want Ballarat to be known as an agricultural education hub,” said Western Victoria upper house MP Josh Morris.
