KANGAROO will be screened as part of a fundraiser for the Animal Justice Party.

The 2017 documentary focuses on Australia’s love-hate relationship with its national icon.

The Animal Justice Party’s Ballarat Convenor, Bryn Hills, said the screening is “timely in regard to the State government’s green light to the commercial slaughter of kangaroos.

“This is in spite of no accurate counting method, animal cruelty and the threat to biodiversity.”

The Animal Justice Party has bought the rights to the film.

Mr Hills said kangaroo culling was just one issue the party was currently focusing on.

“We’ll get around to all of the different causes, this kind of battle that we engage ourselves in is one we fight on many fronts,” he said.

The film will start at 7.30pm on Thursday, 5 September, at the Eastwood Leisure Complex. Tickets are still available.
