June 26, 2019 BY

COMMERCE Ballarat will host Huss Mustafa OAM as he presents at this Tuesday’s Biznet Breakfast, Embracing Diversity.

Mr Mustafa is the General Manager of Multicultural Community Banking Australia, a Senior Executive at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and a board member of multiple government and nongovernment boards in Victoria and New South Wales.

The Turkish Cypriot Australian migrated to this country at 10 years old, learnt English in just over five years and became a State Bank of Victoria staffer at 16. He’s been with CBA for 44 years.

In 2014, Mr Mustafa received an Order of Australia Medal for his promotion of cultural diversity in communities and the workplace.

CEO of Commerce Ballarat Jodie Gillett said the group is honoured to welcome him to the breakfast and celebrate the importance of cultural diversity in business.

“He has such an amazing story to tell. We will learn much from Huss and his experiences about the benefits that cultural diversity offers,” she said.

“We can learn so much from one another, but in order to do so we must understand and respect our differences. A culturally diverse workplace will provide an environment for new ideas and different experiences.

“Commerce Ballarat is thrilled to continually witness our business community be enhanced and enriched by new residents to our city,” Ms Gillett said.

Biznet is an 18-year-old businesses networking forum, and their breakfasts run once a month giving groups the opportunity to hear from business professionals.

The next Biznet Breakfast will run from 7am to 8.45am on Tuesday, 2 July at RACV Goldfields Resort, 1500 Midland Highway, Creswick. Tickets for Commerce Ballarat members are $25 or $35 for non-members.
