INSIGHTS into employment and training opportunities are among the attractions on offer at this month’s Ballarat Jobs and Training Expo.
Happening from 10am to 5pm on Friday 24 July in The Goods Shed Event Hall, the returning expo is free to attend and open to everyone from school students to those interested in a potential career change.
It is one of the region’s largest careers, employment and training events, bringing together employers, training providers, universities, apprenticeship organisations, industry groups and support services under one roof.
“Visitors can meet directly with employers who are recruiting and explore training and education pathways,” event manager, Emma Hart said.
Backed by multiple local partners and sponsors, the expo offers the chance to discover apprenticeships and traineeships, attend free seminars featuring industry experts, experience hands-on activities and chat with career advisors and employment support organisations.

Now in its fifth year, this year’s expo will offer an expanded seminar program covering a wide range of topics, and will also have a stronger focus on future workforce skills and emerging industries.
“Whether someone is leaving school, changing careers, returning to work or looking to upskill, there will be something for everyone,” Hart said.
“School groups will attend between 10am and 2pm, with the afternoon session particularly focused on families, job seekers and the general public.”
Last year the event attracted more than 1800 visitors, including over 900 secondary school students, and those keen to register or learn more before attending this time can visit ballaratjobsandtrainingexpo.com.au
