ARCHITECTS have been appointed to begin design work on female friendly change rooms at four locations across the city.

Clubs and locations in line for the upgrades are Ballarat Soccer Club at Pleasant Street Reserve, Ballarat Football Netball Club at Alfredton Recreation Reserve, Buninyong Soccer Club at Royal Park and Sebastopol Football Netball Club at Marty Busch Reserve.

The design work will be undertaken by Dock 4 Architects, who’ll also run the tender process.

“The City is getting on with the job of building community facilities and providing a strong economic stimulus to the local economy,” said City of Ballarat mayor Cr Ben Taylor.

“These new constructions are long overdue and will add a lot of comfort to players and spectators alike.”

Each site will be getting new change rooms, with the facilities at Pleasant Street Reserve and Marty Busch Reserve to replace the current, outdated amenities.

At statement from the City of Ballarat said the design work for all locations would have been completed by the end of last month site work starting in September and done by April next year.

“All sports changing rooms need to be female friendly,” said Cr Taylor.

“Let’s look forward to next year when these constructions are up and running and we can enjoy playing and watching sport again.”
