Chinese New Year at Sovereign Hill

Sovereign Hill celebrated the Chinese New Year of the Pig, with a variety of activities, including a parade down Main street with the Chinese Dragon Xin Loong and a two Chinese Lions. According to the Chinese 12-year animal zodiac, 2019 is the year of the Pig, representing luck, overall good fortune and general prosperity.

On Sunday, 10 February was the perfect day to enjoy a Parade down Main Street, with lots of sounds and colours.

The Chinese Festival at Sovereign Hill will again be celebrated on Sunday 17 February, with another Parade, a Lion Dance workshop, activities for the kids and traditional Chinese dance and entertainment.
