PRIMARY school students from across the region have taken part in Central Highlands Water’s National Water Week poster competition.

A winner and runner up were announced across each category with Amity from Skipton Primary School winning the prep category while Shai from Timor Primary School came runner up.

Alexis from Skipton Primary School and Harry from Skipton Primary School were winner and runner up respectively in the year one and two category while in the year three and four division, Ivy, from Waubra Primary School was the winner and Cullen, also from Waubra Primary School, was runner up.

In the years five and six category, Ruby from Waubra Primary School was the winner and Sophie from Waubra Primary School came runner up.

National water week is held annually during the third week of October and aims to create awareness around water’s importance.

“The very popular National Water Week poster competition provides an opportunity to engage our younger generation around the importance of water and build awareness of its value in the community,” Central Highlands Water managing director Jeff Haydon said.

“Central Highlands Water were incredibly impressed with the colourful and imaginative posters from schools entered across our region.

“We would like to thank all the participants for entering and congratulate the winners of this year’s competition.”

This year’s theme was water Heroes: save every drop.
