WITH handy grants of between $10,000 and $30,000 on offer, local artists and creatives will need to get cracking this month if they want to secure some dollars through the State’s Creative Projects Fund.

Minister for Creative Industries Colin Brooks launched the 2026 round of the Creative Projects Fund this March and applications are now being received up until 3pm on Thursday 16 April.

“Victoria is the creative state and we want to keep it that way by supporting artists and ideas,” Mr Brooks said.

“This fund will help locals to create new work, reach new audiences and grow our world-class creative industries.”

The fund provides one-off grants to support projects led by Victorian artists, creative collectives and micro-organisations and eligible projects can include new work, professional and career development opportunities and innovative projects.

The program backed more-than 100 diverse projects in 2025.

Previous recipients include Ballarat’s Anzara Clark who received $19,903 under the 2023-24 round to develop a collection of sustainable garments made from paper to be launched at Eco-Fashion Week Australia.

Last year the program backed 115 diverse projects spread throughout the state, supporting more than 1000 job opportunities.

Projects ranged from new albums and graphic novels to artist residencies, circus performances, film scores, fashion collections, innovative uses for recycled materials and immersive theatre experiences for children and families.

Victoria’s creative industries are a major economic driver , contributing $41.1 billion to the state’s economy and employing more than 337,000 workers, almost nine per cent of the workforce.

Projects supported through the freshly launched round of the Creative Projects Fund will be set to start from 1 October this year with more details at creative.vic.gov.au/funding.
