Australia’s first fully immersive digital theme park is levelling up.

Dreamskape, which opened its augmented reality (AR) entertainment centre at District Docklands in 2023, will unveil its next chapter with the launch of Dreamrace on Sunday 21 September.

Located right next door, Dreamrace features state-of-the-art VR rides, motion simulators and active adventure games inspired by classic video game concepts. Several are Australian exclusives.

Dream Verse surrounds you in stunning 3D environments.

“Dreamrace’s Hurricane 360 VR is the only one of its kind in Australia,” Dreamskape co-founder and president Joanna Chen said.

“It’s fully rotational with coaster-style seats that spin riders 360 degrees in ultra-realistic VR.”

Also exclusive to Australia are Dream Spartan and Dream Ronin, physical gaming experiences combining Dutch gaming software and advanced Chinese hardware.

Together, Dreamskape and Dreamrace span 1600 square metres with more than 150 games, rides and challenge zones. They blend VR, AR and motion-driven gameplay into an all-ages, all-weather destination.

“The balance of tech immersion and physical activity means players aren’t just in a headset,” said Dreamskape director Fraser Bell.

“They’re running, riding, climbing or spinning while interacting with virtual worlds.”

The space has already won the 2024–25 Asia Pacific Space Design Award, with interiors by Brand Space in China and Melbourne architect Justin Lee.

Following the Docklands success, new Dreamskapes will open at Westfield Knox on 17 September and Westfield Southland in December. Interstate sites are planned from 2026.

Tickets start at $20 for Dreamrace and $25 for Dreamskape.
