PUBLIC consultation about the future of the City Oval precinct is now underway.

The City of Ballarat is currently developing a masterplan for the sporting facility which will guide the long-term vision for the area.

Before starting the draft designs and plan, public feedback is being sought.

The masterplan will encompass the City Oval football and netball precinct, the adjacent City Oval Bowling Club, and the Intercultural Garden.

“City Oval has been at the heart of Ballarat’s sporting and community life for well over a century,” mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves said.

“This consultation is about listening first.

“We want to hear how people use the space today, what they value most about it, and what improvements or ideas they’d like to see in the future.”

City of Ballarat staff have already begun consultation with stakeholders, and the broader community can provide feedback on the MySay website until Sunday 14 December.

In-person consultation sessions were held last week at the Intercultural Garden, City Oval Bowls Club and SpringFest.

There will be further consultation opportunities as the plan progresses, and the final document is expected to be presented in late 2026.
