THINGS No One Told You, The Y Ballarat’s free collaborative life skills Program, will get underway next week.

Youth impact facilitator Caitlin Clark said it’s designed to equip young people aged 15 to 23, with important skills they will need throughout their life, but may not learn at school.

“Y Ballarat’s Youth Team conducted consults with young people around Ballarat and identified key areas where young people advised there was a gap in their skillset,” she said.

Areas of focus scheduled within the program already include job skills, resume writing and finance.

The first of the job skills sessions will be running on Tuesday, 15 November from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in a fun and relaxed environment at The Y Ballarat which is based at Barkly Square, Ballarat East.

“In collaboration with The Ballarat Neighbourhood Centre, we will be focusing on skills and preparation for a job interview,” Ms Clark said.

On Tuesday, 22 November, the program will cover resume writing, and Wednesday 23 November will have a focus on financial information. Both will again be held from 4.30pm to 5.30pm at Barkly Square.

For information about this session and others, or to register for the program, visit The Y website at bit.ly/3NJPquD or contact Ms Clark on 0448 608 961 or via [email protected].

As the program continues, more life skills covered are expected to be relevant to the home, life administration, and relationships and social areas.
