RESIDENTS in need of assistance in accessing or saving their Medicare COVID-19 vaccination certificates can attend Ballarat Libraries for help.

The Doveton Street, Sebastopol and Wendouree sites are offering the support services, including linking the certificates to the Service Victoria app, which collects QR check-in data.

City of Ballarat deputy-mayor Cr Amy Johnson said navigating the technology is not always easy.

“Whilst many may assume that such processes are simple, they aren’t for everyone, for different reasons,” she said.

“It is an intrinsic part of our Council Plan goals that we ensure a healthy, connected and inclusive community, so offering sessions like these is just another wonderful example of why our libraries are a great community asset.

“On average many [need] almost 60 minutes of assistance, and our staff have been brilliant in delivering. Our senior citizens… have helped make Ballarat what it is, so to give back some care and help through our services is very rewarding.”

Ballarat Library has a session today, Thursday, 28 October. Bookings can be made for Sebastopol and Wendouree, via 5335 7985 and 5339 3505 respectively.
