ACTOR Tabitha Rickard has reached the global finals of the World Monologue Games.

Set to perform on Saturday, 26 November at 9pm, Rickard will contest the main professional category, following success in September’s regional finals.

“I now get to perform alongside the world’s best actors at the Globals and try to win a bronze, silver, or gold medal for Australia. I can’t wait,” she said.

“The monologue I’m performing is self-written and inspired froma… show that I cowrote and performed in last year called Big Women, with Ladderframe Theatre.

“I wanted to create a scene that had multiple emotional shifts, and moments without dialogue so that I could showcase my abilities as an actress.

“Competing on the world stage is a dream come true and I’m super excited to share my work.”

World Monologue Games founder Pete Malicki said the competition continues to grow in popularity year-by-year.

“What I love most about the games is seeing amazing performers from all around the world come together in a single event,” he said.

“More than half the world’s countries have participated, although I won’t feel entirely satisfied until we get our first submission from Antarctica.”

Rickard is one of 90 competitors from six categories who have secured a World Monologue Games global finals position.

Actors from more than 100 countries have been part of the competition. Watch the event at worldmonologuegames.com/watch.
