A DONATION of ten thousand dollars from Camp 4 Cancer will go towards the community-funded Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre’s Wellness Centre run by Grampians Health.

More than 400 campers gather annually for Camp 4 Cancer’s three days of festivities which includes live music, raffles, food and guest speakers.

The money raised from the event goes towards supporting cancer patients and research.

Mark McGrath, Treasurer of Camp 4 Cancer, said the organisation was established to bring people together and raise funds.

“With a group of close friends, we established Camp 4 Cancer to raise much needed funds for cancer research,” he said.

“Last year, to celebrate our 10th birthday, Camp 4 Cancer decided to expand our donations from just cancer research to organisations who support and care for cancer patients.

“The Wellness Centre ticks all of our boxes. We’re delighted to be able to donate funds to help you continue your much needed programs and services.”

Simone Noelker, Wellness Centre and pastoral care manager at Grampians Health Ballarat, said the organisation is thankful for the donation.

“This generous donation helps us provide essential services and support to cancer patients in our community, beyond medical treatment.

“We focus on providing care and support for the whole person.”
