WORK’S are complete on the latest set of improvements to Brown Hill Hall.

The upgrades included a new kitchen, renovating two meeting rooms and construction of more storage area.

“It’s fantastic to see areas within this facility transformed to provide modern, contemporary community spaces,” said City of Ballarat central ward representative Cr Samantha McIntosh.

“Whilst community members are not currently able to use this wonderful facility, we’re confident that the new space will be welcomed and well utilised when opened.”

The recently completed improvements come on top of capital works undertaken in 2019 and run to a total cost of $650,000.

The site was identified through the city’s Engaging Communities effort with the money coming via the Social Infrastructure Program.

A statement from the city described Brown Hill Hall as “one of the most used community facilities in Ballarat” and would normally play host to the suburb’s senior citizen group as well as the currently furloughed Brown Hill Market.

The statement also said the works would be officially opened at a later time.
