Pompey Elliott back to life

COMPELLING 80-minute World War One play, Mud and Blood is coming to the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute for two shows tomorrow, Friday 17 May.

Following soldier, lawyer and politician Pompey Elliott, the story brings Gallipoli and The Somme back to life, alongside themes of family, duty, loyalty, trauma, betrayal, legacy and grief.

Written by Meg McNena and directed by Alice Bishop, it will be performed at 12.30pm and 7pm.

The production has previously played to positive reviews in Charlton and Moonee Ponds and last year.

Pompey Elliot biographer and historian, Ross McMullin will give a talk on World War One after the 12.30pm show. Tickets are available at trybooking.com/book/event?eid=493326&.
