BALLAN District Vintage Machinery & Vehicle Club will unveil its Ronaldson Tippett museum at this year’s vintage rally on Sunday, 17 February.

The club has spent many hours and much money constructing and kitting out the museum with great examples of agricultural engines built by Ronaldson Bros and Tippett in Ballarat for over 50 years.

Held at the Old Ballan Racecourse, fans of engines, vintage vehicles of all kinds, farming and domestic tools, model powerboats and aircraft will be in seventh heaven.

Ray Meadows, club treasurer said, “The highlight on the day is the vintage tractor pull.”

“Some people come along and sit there all day just watching the tractor pull.”

The tractor that pulls a weight, which gets heavier the harder it is pulled, the longest distance takes home first prize.

For those who need a break from all things mechanical, there is sheep shearing, handcraft displays, model trains and a variety of old-time wares for sale.

The rally is fully catered with food and drink available from 9am to 4pm.

Entry is $10 adults, $20 family and free for children under 14.

Ballan Racecourse is located on Racecourse Road Ballan.
