If you enjoyed the inaugural Dunnstown Irish Festival last year, you are in for a double dose of fun, frivolity, toe-tapping and jig dancing as it is a weekend affair this year.

First timers beware, you are in for an Irish treat.

The festival kicks off with a Night on the Green on Saturday, 16 March with music in a marquee from local bands including The Settlement and The Go Set from Melbourne on the bill.

Food trucks will be on site, bring your tent, camp overnight and enjoy an Irish breakfast at the Shamrock Hotel on Sunday morning.

A family day of sporting events and music for all ages kicks off St Patrick’s Day Dunnstown style early afternoon on Sunday, 17 March with jumping castle, face painting, potato sack racing and games on offer for the kids and the young at heart.

Throughout the afternoon watch Irish dancing, toss some quoits and enter the hookey competition.

Take a turn at sheaf tossing, potato peeling and potato pickling and join the tug of war.

A new event this year will be the Guinness Relay.

The marquee will again be the scene for more music on Sunday with local Irish band Old Melbourne Road playing their Celtic tunes.
