MOTOR enthusiasts are revving up for a big Sunday when Auto Fest Ballarat returns for it’s second year to raise funds for Keeley’s Cause.

The event is set to transform Ballarat High School indoor basketball courts, front lawn and carpark next Sunday 19 April with all things auto and all proceeds going to the Ballan-based charity that raises funds to buy iPads for kids with learning disabilities.

Event organisers with Rebel Ride Co said they are keen to showcase the best Ballarat and surrounds has to offer when it comes to cars and motorcycles, from detailing services to racing opportunities, motorcycle club rides to good local mechanics.

“We also have food trucks, show and shine, our elite hall motorcycle display, market and trade stalls, and raffles including our bike raffle to be drawn on the day,” event co-ordinator Fraser Wood said.

“When we held it at North Ballarat Sports Club for the first time last year it was under the name Motorcycle Mania and it was just for motorbikes.

The elite hall motorcycle display will be returning again to showcase some very sleek machines as part of Auto Fest Ballarat.

“Last year we raised about $2500 for Keeley’s Cause and this year we’ve opened it up to four wheels as well as two.”

Wood said sponsorship support from Ballarat City Motorcycles means a Pee Wee 50 motorbike valued at $2750 is among raffle prizes up for grabs with the raffle draw scheduled for between 1.45pm to 2pm on the day.

“We’ve had tonnes of support from local businesses who have donated vouchers and gear for raffle prizes as well,” he said.

Organisers said the day is family-friendly with children’s activities and prizes on offer.

They are also welcoming clubs to host a stall on the day and share what they offer.

Any car or bike owners who think their set of wheels is award-winning material are encouraged to register for the chance to take home a trophy and bragging rights.

“We will have trophies up for grabs for Best Bike, Best Car and also for People’s Choice,” Wood said.

More details and registrations are available through the Auto fest Ballarat Facebook page with a cold coin donation for gate entry on the day.
