Shoot for the stars at Connecting Conference

BUSINESS conferences are normally the domain of executive leaders, management and those occupying the boardroom.

The upcoming Connecting Conference is specifically designed for the office professional.

The target audience of office professional, otherwise known as office manager, executive assistant, administrator or personal assistant, will increase their knowledge and skills and be better equipped to provide increased levels of support to business executives.

Held on Wednesday, 8 May the conference is a jam packed with workshops presented by Tash Spencer, life and career coach, Sally Kennedy, event manager extraordinaire and leadership practitioner Garry Trotter.

Sally Kennedy, founder Dearly Plaques and Memorials said, “My workshop at the conference is a great opportunity for admin executives to not only learn about how to run a great event but they will take away tips, hints and an event template they can put to use the very next day.”

Plus, there are three plenary sessions highlighting the experiences and ideas of Peter Cain from Dad’s Oats; Bridget Aitchinson, campus dean at ACU’s Aquinas Ballarat and psychologist Chris Waters.

“By sharing the story of the creation and growth of Dad’s Oats I hope to encourage the conference delegates to run with and develop any ideas they may have, no matter how small,” said Peter Cain, Dad’s Oats CEO.

Eating the Frog is a lively session with six of Ballarat’s best executives and office professionals discussing and debating the keys to better productivity.

The conference is preceded by meet and greet drinks and a dinner held on Tuesday, 7 May.

Adam Elliot, recipient of 2004 Academy Award for Best Animated film for Harvie Krumpet, will deliver the keynote address, titled Shoot for the Stars!

Elliot, born with asthma, a hereditary shake and his father’s male pattern baldness, will share his story of overcoming the odds with sheer determination and patience.

Connecting Conference is on Wednesday, 8 May at Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre, 613 Main Road Golden Point from 8.30am to 6pm.
