WITH less than two weeks until food and garden organics (FOGO) and glass collection begins within the City of Ballarat, three students’ artworks have been unveiled on some of the municipality’s waste collection vehicles.
Grade three student Darcy Collier, Zyane Abdul who is in grade six, and year seven student Sienna Wilson’s artworks, which encourage the community to correctly use their bins, were selected for the vehicles.
More than 130 entries were received in the competition.
“These young artists have done more than just decorate our trucks, they have created moving masterpieces that will help spread the message for a cleaner, greener Ballarat,” mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves said.
“Young people are often the ones teaching their parents about recycling and sustainability.
“These eye-catching designs will play a key role in educating residents about correct bin use.”
FOGO and glass collection will begin from Monday 3 November.
