There’s certainly something special about building your first home: designing and creating something to suit you, that will last a lifetime.

YET, there’s something extra special about Bronwyn and Gary’s story.

Bronwyn and Gary met in March 2016 – and immediately connected. “We had a lot in common and subsequently fell in love,” Bronwyn said.

“We decided to look into building a home together and purchased our acre at Bannockburn in 2017, we then started to look for a builder to build our forever home together. Gary proposed in December of that year and it was then that we decided that once our home was built, we would have our wedding and reception at home surrounded by our friends and family.”

The views from the one-acre are spectacular.

The couple are originally from the Geelong area, and moved to Bannockburn upon the completion of their Metricon home in November last year. They love the open space and quietness that regional living offers. So, it was important for them to find a home that suited their regional lifestyle and would sit well on their block.

They found an interstate builder that was starting out in Victoria, and went all the way through to contract signing when the builder pulled out, saying they wouldn’t build until they had a certain number of builds in Bannockburn.

Following a friend’s advice, they decided to get in touch with a sales consultant at Metricon, who recommended they visit the display homes in Armstrong Creek. They did – and fell in love with the Delta 28BP.

“The floor plan is spacious, and the room sizes are really generous,” Bronwyn said.

“We loved the butler’s pantry and the overall layout of the home. We felt that this floor plan on our land would give us a great feeling of space inside and outside. We also love that there is plenty of light that comes in through the big windows.”

Despite the rocky start to their build process, they were thankful to find what they were looking for with Metricon.

“We wanted a company that was approachable and responsive to our many questions. What made our build experience particularly great was the professionalism of our Site Supervisor,” Bronwyn said.

“He communicated at all times and listened to any concerns we had. From start to finish we found that it was an easy process. Everyone that we dealt with from Metricon was approachable. We felt that the local trades used for our build were great and provided good quality of workmanship.”

So, having now been in their forever home for one year, what are Bronwyn and Gary’s plans moving forward? “Our plans are to have a long and happy life in our home. We are hosting our wedding here in December, and are very excited to not only share our home with all our guests, but also that it will further imprint our love of where we live,” Bronwyn said.
