New kid on the local block, Stone Real Estate, is hosting a Career in Real Estate information night to recruit additional team members

SAMANTHA Prince and Jarrod Cloke opened the Stone Real Estate Ballarat three months ago and business is going so well they now looking to bring new staff on board.

To help with the enlistment process the team at Stone are presenting a Career in Real Estate evening on Monday, 14 October aimed at introducing the industry to potential recruits.

“Business is growing and we can see an upward projection,” Mrs Prince said. “This is an information night and staff recruitment drive for people wanting to know more about the industry.”

Between them Ms Prince and Mr Cloke have 19 years of experience in real estate.

That expertise has enabled the firm grow rapidly, with first step in their expansion being the recent   employment of a property manager who can focus on the agency’s rental portfolio.

“Certainly, since spring has sprung we have seen an increase in appraisals and presentations,” Mr Cloke said. “Obviously the business is growing, so the more help we can get the better off the business will be.”

Peter Malouf is the national head of Stone Real Estate’s training. He’s been bought in to present the event which is capped at 25 attendees.

“People see real estate from the outside and think, ‘it looks nice a glossy and I’ve always liked houses and people, so maybe I should give it a go,’ without understanding how the business works,” Mr Malouf said.

“The idea of the Stone’s careers information night is to give people an overview with specifics and based on facts on how the sector works and what they need to do to be successful.

“My presentation is aimed at people who are comfortable in learning and taking heed from someone who is experienced and knowledgeable, who is able to get you from A to B much faster than doing it on your own.”

Mr Cloke, a licensed real estate agent, has the knowledge of the Ballarat market while Mr Malouf is expert in training and process.

Mr Malouf said if property selling and management processes are followed with some discipline and consistency, they’ll pay good results and rewards.

“We are looking for great people, we are an upgrowth mind set, and we have a performance culture at Stone,” he said. “We want to be discerning with the kinds of people we bring in

“Recruiting people who are willing to work after hours and weekends when necessary to fit in with the clients is essential.

“We take the view that you have to have a good life, work is just there to fund your life.

“The overall idea of the night is to expose as many people, who have any sort of lukewarm interest in real estate, to what it will take to be successful.”

The Career in Real Estate event is at Stone Real Estate Ballarat, 17 Armstrong Street South, Ballarat on Monday, 14 October from 6pm to 8pm.

Refreshments will be served after the event and Mr Malouf will be on hand to provide further information. RSVP by calling Samantha Prince on 0408 824 697.
