Top gongs in HIA home building awards

Winning entries in the 2018 HIA CSR Victorian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards.

VISIONEER Builders has won the 2018 HIA CSR Victorian Home of the Year Award, for a stunning custom-built home project in Melbourne’s inner suburbs.

The result was announced at the 2018 HIA CSR Victorian Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards, held in the Palladium Ballroom at Crown Towers, Melbourne, on Friday, 9 November, with industry leaders and VIPs from across the state and the country in attendance.

The HIA judges commended the three-level family home as a, “Fine example of modern architecture” and featuring, “Near flawless craftsmanship, ensuring unparalleled quality, durability and longevity.”

Built on a suspended slab to help capture views of both the bay and CBD, the home features a rooftop acrylic-edged pool, a translucent New York marble front door, and a suite of sustainability features such as a 4000-litre rainwater tank, 30 solar panels and a design that optimises crossflow ventilation.

Michael Schuurmans, Director, from Visioneer, said that the whole team is thrilled and honoured to be recognised with this Home of the Year Award.

Visioneer Builders also enjoyed success in other categories on the night, in particular by claiming the Apartment of the Year award for a separate project, and is now a three time recipient of this prestigious Home of the Year Award.

Comdain Homes claimed the Display Home of the Year title for their outstanding Belle Vue display home.

Shielcon Group won Renovation/Addition Project of the Year for an extensive Mornington Peninsula project that also won them HIA Eastern Victoria Home of the Year honours earlier in the year.

Exceptional kitchen and bathroom projects were also honoured on the night: H&H Cabinets won Kitchen of the Year for a striking inner-suburban new kitchen. Better Bathrooms & Kitchens received the Bathroom of the Year award for a heritage-styled renovation project.

Porter Davis was awarded Professional Major Builder of the year honours. SJD Homes were recognised as the Professional Medium Builder/ Renovator of the year and Coastyle Building Solutions received the Professional Small Builder/Renovator of the year award for an impressive third year running.
