GUARD Luke Rosendale has re-signed with the Ballarat Miners men’s squad for this year’s NBL1 South season, while Ally Knights will join the women’s squad.

This will be Rosendale’s second season with the Miners, and he is coming off a season as a development player with the South East Melbourne Phoenix under Miners’ head coach and Phoenix assistant coach Luke Brennan.

In the 2024 season, Rosendale averaged 13.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 40.9 per cent.

He was also named as a finalist for the NBL1 South defensive player of the year award.

“I’m super excited to be back at the Miners in 2025,” Rosendale said.

“I felt that I had unfinished business after last season and I’m looking forward to starting the process to build towards another finals appearance with this group.”

Recruit Ally Knights was recently part of the Bellarine Storm’s debut championship women season.

Knights is a 170-centimetre guard from Geelong who was recently part of the Bellarine Storm’s debut championship women’s season.

She began her collegiate journey at North Florida during the 2021–2022 season, where she played in 29 games, and set a UNF record with 20 assists in a single game on 13 November 2021 against Trinity Baptist.

Knights then transferred to Hofstra University.

“I am super excited to be playing with Ballarat this season,” she said.

“After speaking with Kennedy [Kereama, coach], it felt like the right fit for me as a player and a person.

“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to come to the Miners.

“Looking forward to helping the team achieve some great things this season and being part of an awesome program.”

The season begins on Saturday 29 March.
