LOCAL Laura Taylor will return to the Ballarat Miners for this year’s NBL1 season.
Standing six feet tall, Taylor is a guard forward who has played collegiate basketball at Weber State University in the United States.
Before her collegiate experience, Taylor attended Ballarat Grammar and played representative level in Junior VJBL teams, and for the Youth League side before joining the NBL1 team.
She said she is looking forward to playing with the Miners again.
“I am beyond excited and proud to be a Miner and be back playing in front of my hometown again,” she said.
“I have appreciated the endless support during my college career and now it’s time to be back on home soil.
“I can’t wait to be a part of this excellent program and help my team get back to finals as I know there is unfinished business.”
Ballarat Basketball CEO Neville Ivey said it is great to see Taylor return home.
“Laura’s return underscores our commitment to nurturing local talent and providing pathways for our athletes,” he said.
“We’re proud to see her come full circle and are confident she’ll be a key player for the Miners in 2025.”
Taylor joins Abbey Wehrung, Ella Gordon, Micah Simpson and Opal Bird in the squad, with more signings to come.
