Baabinje’s Backyard

An exhibition featuring original artworks from children’s picture book Baabinje’s Backyard is now on display at Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre, showcasing the collaboration between Bundjalung artist Bronwyn Bancroft and Bundjalung writer Ella Noah Bancroft. The works accompany their children’s picture book about a grandmother’s love for her garden, Country and family. The exhibition highlights Bronwyn Bancroft’s distinctive visual storytelling and marks her 50th children’s book, celebrating her tremendous contribution to Australian and Aboriginal children’s literature. Babette Robertson – And her hallway moves like the ocean

Babette Robertson continues her ongoing investigation into the structures and residues of dreams in her solo exhibition at Lismore Regional Gallery. Each work begins with a written account, then moves through watercolour studies that distil the logic, atmosphere, and shifting symbols of the dream state. These fragments become the basis for large scale paintings and sculptural forms, treating dreams not as private stories but as shared symbols drawn from a collective unconscious.
