The best in butter

November 3, 2023 BY

Choose from the Lard Ass range of salted or unsalted butter, or a selection of flavoured butters.

Lard Ass was founded by a dairy farmer’s daughter who grew up in Western Victoria surrounded by the creamy goodness of fresh milk and churned butter.

Proud of her Italian heritage where food was grown and sourced locally, and growing up with six brothers and sisters helping her parents manage the farm, she started and grew Lard Ass out of her yearning for simple, goodness bringing back great taste in butter.

Every morning, the butter factory comes to life with the rhythmic churning of grass-fed cream, sourced from South West Victoria’s finest dairy farms.

The cream undergoes a meticulous culturing process, allowing the development of complex flavors and a creamy, tangy richness that sets this butter apart.

The artistry behind cultured butter production is a careful balance of science and tradition, combining the right bacteria cultures with a slow fermentation process.

What makes this butter factory truly exceptional is its commitment to preserving Victorian dairy and its natural beauty and resources.

Local, grass-fed cows provide the cream, and sustainable practices are integrated into every aspect of production.

The factory’s small-batch approach ensures that each pat of butter is crafted with care and attention to detail.

With a high butterfat content, cultured butter is ideal for cooking, baking or simply devouring on fresh sourdough or crackers.

It looks and feels like butter with a fresh hearty taste.

Choose from salted or unsalted butter, or a selection of flavoured butters.

Great on toast but great too with your meal.

Visit the factory in Ocean Grove Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm excluding public holidays.
