Anglesea Art House member Adam Stanley’s work is inspired by Australian beaches and will be on display at the 34th annual art and craft exhibition.

One of the Surf Coast region’s biggest celebrations of creativity is fast approaching, with the Anglesea Art House gearing up to host its 34th annual art and craft exhibition this weekend.

Paintings, pottery, ceramics, glasswork, woodwork and an abundance of crafts from both Surf Coast residents and members of Anglesea Art House will form the basis of this year’s event, an opportunity to commemorate the region’s dynamic talent.

Anglesea Art House president Jennifer O’Sullivan said she’s thrilled to be one of the organisers of the 34th instalment, which will be held at Anglesea Community Hall.

“We have such a variety of artists and artwork coming out of the art house. It is phenomenal,” she said.

“This exhibition is a wonderful time for members of the community to come and enjoy and purchase this quality local art, a lot of which has been inspired by the beautiful Surf Coast region.

“We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful, creative part of the world. We are also incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful community art house with professional facilities like glass and pottery kilns and a printing press.”

Ms O’Sullivan said the works on display at this year’s exhibition are of an incredibly “high standard”.

The 34th annual art and craft show will be hosted at Anglesea Community Hall (McMillan Street) on Saturday June 8 (10am- 5pm), Sunday June 9 (10am-5pm) and Monday June 10 (10am-3.30pm).

Entry cost is $3 per person. An evening of champagne and nibbles will be held on Friday June 7 to give attendees a sneak peek of the works for sale. Entry for the Friday event is $10. For more information, visit angleseaarthouse.com.au.
