FOUR WOMEN, ONE HELL OF A STORY

Multi-award-winning musical play The Sapphires will grace the stage at The Potato Shed across two big nights of entertainment. The play, which is inspired by the widely popular film of the same name, depicts the journey of a singing group comprising of four Yorta Yorta women. PRINTING MASTERCLASS WITH ANITA IACOVELLA

Professional artist Anita Iacovella will host a workshop at Queenscliff Gallery this Saturday. Anita, whose been lecturing in printmaking and drawing at The Gordon part-time for 19 years, is best-known for her monoprint/monotype technique. Students at Anita’s workshop can expect to explore contemporary and painterly approaches on paper while also gaining understanding of mono printing. All levels and experience welcome. UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF WORDS IN AIREYS

Melbourne author Helen Cerne will join Surf Coast writer Janet Brown for the fifth annual ‘Under the Influence of Words’ as part of the Love Winter in Aireys Festival. Locked in for this Sunday at the Aireys Pub, the free event will see Helen share insights into her poetry, her collaborative autobiography ‘Shifting’, and her recent explorations into flash fiction. Several writers from around the region and beyond will also be in attendance to read their work. Some stories and discussions may contain adult and mature themes. Under the Influence of Words begins at 2.30pm at the Aireys Pub (45 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet).
